The education minister said this while responding to various cut motions from opposition MPs during the process of passing the proposed budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

Lawmakers from the Jatiya Party, BNP and Gonoforum had previously called on the government to reopen all educational institutions to save student education. Two members of the Jatiya party, however, opposed it.

The education minister said it would not be appropriate to reopen educational institutions until the infection rate drops to 5% or less and now the infection rate is around 24 %. In some districts the infection is 50 percent or more.

She said that the developed countries of the world have tried to open educational institutions at different times. But they were forced to shut down again after the infection rate increased.

“I speak to parents at different times,” she said. “Although some of them urged me to open it, many parents told me that they would not send their children to school if it was open during this period,” he said. she adds.

Regarding the SSC and HSC exams, the Minister said: “We will inform everyone about this very soon. We will tell you all about what we are going to do.

The minister said that the educational life of students has been disrupted all over the world.

“We will make decisions based on the opinion of the National Advisory Committee on Covid-19,” she added.
